Blessings in disguise
How great does it feel when a bad thing in general turns out to be a blessing in disguise? For instance there was the issue with the Labour Party leadership job, with just under 2 months to go to the election, the Labour Party were polling at its lowest numbers for 30 years. So with that in mind Andrew Little stepped down with immediate effect in his role as the leader. This role was taken up by Jacinda Ardern, who was always thought to be the next in line, even though she was deputy leader. She being a woman in her 30s had the question asked frequently what her baby plans were. That meant that even though he had lost his big role as the Leader of the Opposition and possibly, but probably not, Prime Minister of New Zealand, Andrew Little woke up relieved the next day as he would not be asked what his baby plans were every day.
That was an example of a bad situation ultimately being for the best for all parties in the end and this is just one of many examples, the other examples I will hopefully make up within the rest of the newsletter. That’s the aim anyway and an example of that would be struggling to come up with more content for a newsletter but the mere mention of struggling to write some more words for the topic in the newsletter is a blessing in disguise because that has in fact helped me to come up with more words and before you know it is a new paragraph that you have just regretted to read.
Another example of this for some people is being redundant, sure it does suck at the time but that means more free time to sew up any holes you had in your work trousers and if you’re still not working then you don’t have to wear any pants at all. Make sure you wear pants if you come to the door if a person knocks or rings the bell at the entrance to your house, it’s more important that your visitors see your great sewn up pants than see your privates.
Another one is for the slightly visually impaired ie people with glasses who accidentally put their glasses somewhere and don’t know where they are. They then have to make good out of a bad situation and fight crime like a blind person, just like Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. So a loss of glasses means less crime on the streets and cops don’t need to be as busy, so the police can spend more time thinking of viral video ideas. They want to achieve the lofty heights of the running man challenge and the Always blow on the pie cop.
One thing to point out is that this is about blessings in disguise and not robots in disguise, which are known more famously as Transformers. Therefore some people reading this may have thought that this was going to be an entire essay or thesis about the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. This is not true because it clearly says Blessings in Disguise but for those who were expecting an entire newsletter about the likes of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will have still enjoyed reading this newsletter because they can now see the positive side of being made redundant, especially if they have been reading my newsletter while they have been working and their boss decides they are the ones to go now that the company they work for requires some downsizing.
